Instructions
- If using bread, soak in cold water for 5 minutes, then squeeze out excess water.
- Combine tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, onion, and garlic in a large bowl.
- Add soaked bread (if using), olive oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Working in batches, blend mixture until smooth in a blender or food processor.
- Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for ultra-smooth texture (optional).
- Adjust consistency with cold water if needed.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, or vinegar.
- Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Serve cold, garnished with diced vegetables and fresh basil.
